After seeing the extended version of this scene above, last night, I came to the conclusion that I have a strong distaste for The Countless. In fact, I’m more annoyed by her than Jill Zarin. Not easy to do. Now I’m not saying that it’s necessarily a bad thing to be someone everyone hates. Every good epic storyline needs a villain. Alex McCord is a nice girl. She doesn’t do well in combat. She can add her own angle to the show along with Sonja Morgan, and we don’t really need them going to battle. Not everything has to be about drama and fights. Look at Lisa Vanderpump from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hillbillies? She’s cool as a cucumber and everyone LOVES her.
Another problem. Cindy Barshop. Every time the camera focuses in on her, the energy in the room drops like a ton of bricks. She eternally appears to be annoyed she’s on the show. I can’t figure out why she even wants to be on the show in the first place. She owns the successful Completely Bare franchise. It’s about to go national. Why even mess with any of this? (“Interesting” reviews for this place on Yelp.) When you’re on a reality TV show, there’s a least a decent chance the entire world will see you at your worst. She didn’t need this show to launch a career, she already had one. She could have just hosted the Real Housewives for a Completely Bare party, gotten the publicity and washed her hands of it all.
That’s why I’d like to see Cat Ommanney from the now defunct Real Housewives of DC move to NYC and unleash some serious whoop-ass on The Countless. I’m tired of watching Jill and LuAnn steamroll over everyone. They’re starting to believe their own hype, the hype they imagine in their heads. Sorry Countless, you’re not the Queen of England. And acting like it doesn’t make it true.
And by the way, the ratings dropped as I predicted this week. Do they really want to watch those numbers continue to fall?
